On Monday, March 3, 2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2900 block of Gordon Road for the report of a weapons offence. Information received indicated that two individuals were assaulted with a bladed weapon before the assailants fled the scene.
Police attended and located the victims, who both had injuries consistent with knife wounds. They were transported to hospital by EMS with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. A witness to the incident provided suspect descriptions. A short time later, police located five individuals who matched the descriptions. The following morning (March 4, 2025) police located the sixth and final suspect.
As a result of this investigation, one 16 year-old, two 15 year-olds, and one 14 year-old youth, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are jointly charged with:
- Attempted Murder x2 [CC 239].
The 14 year-old youth, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is also charged with:
- Failure to Comply with Disposition [YCJA 137].
The 16 year-old youth, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is also charged with:
- Failure to Comply with Disposition x2 [YCJA 137]; and
- Failure to Comply with Conditions of Release Order x3 [CC 145(5)(A)].
The accused made their first appearances on these charges in Youth Provincial Court this afternoon, March 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
