Let’s celebrate Canada Day safely. On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Wascana Park will be filled with a variety of events and entertainment. The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast and wraps up with a fireworks display after sunset (approximately 10:30 p.m.). For full event details, visit https://www.reginacanadaday.ca/.
Officers from our Traffic Safety Unit, Public Safety Unit and Patrol will be on hand throughout the day making sure everyone is safe. This includes the closure of Albert Street between College Avenue and 20th Avenue to all vehicle traffic beginning at 8:30 p.m.
The Regina Police Service reminds drivers that parking illegally or stopping your vehicle on any road to watch the fireworks is not allowed. Officers will be ensuring that the rules of the road are being followed to ensure everyone’s safety.
Safety and Etiquette Reminders:
- Expect increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic near Wascana Park. Plan your route, leave early and be patient and respectful.
- Park only in designated spots, lock your doors and remove valuables.
- Smoking is not permitted in public areas.
- Dispose of trash properly and consume alcohol only in the designated beer garden.
- Take a photo of your child before arriving in case you become separated during the event.

*Next to Kin Tag:
The Next to Kin Tag is a safety tool that can help reunite families when someone becomes separated in crowded settings. The tap-enabled tag can be attached to clothing or a keychain and is easily scanned with a smartphone to display parent or guardian contact information.
Next to Kin tags are available free-of-charge at the Lost Children’s Tent.
