(2019-10-28) UPDATE: Missing Jenaya WAPEMOOSE – Victim of Homicide; Two Persons Charged
The Regina Police Service is continuing its investigation to locate a 22 year-old woman who has not had contact with her family in several weeks. Family members contacted Regina Police on May 7, 2019, to report they had not seen or had contact with 22 year-old Jenaya Mary WAPEMOOSE, of Regina, since March 10, 2019.
Jenaya Mary WAPEMOOSE is described as female, Indigenous, 5’4″, 130 lbs., thin build, with shoulder-length light brown, wavy hair and brown eyes. Noticeable markings include a tattoo of stars on her neck. Recent photos of WAPEMOOSE accompany this news release.
Investigators continue to pursue investigative avenues in attempts to locate Jenaya WAPEMOOSE and continue to be in contact with her family and friends. A number of officers have been assigned tasks, which include following up on tips received, evaluating that information and identifying actions for the investigators. The Regina Police Service has been made aware of a planned search and awareness campaign, organized by family and friends, scheduled for tomorrow in Regina. Police have been in touch with organizers of this search to ensure those involved in, and affected by, any physical searching of property understand each other’s rights.
