A male has been charged following a motor vehicle collision that resulted in serious injuries for a sixty-four year old male. On Thursday evening, July 25, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Broad Street and 4th Avenue involving multiple vehicles.
Upon arrival, police and EMS provided assistance to the victim, identified as an adult male, who was then transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Initial investigations indicated that the suspect had collided with the victim before colliding with two other vehicles stopped at the intersection and fled the scene on foot.
Shortly after, the suspect was located inside of a business on the 1000 block of Broad Street and arrested.
Through Investigation, it was also learned that prior to this collision, there was a hit and run by the same suspect that occurred at the intersection of Albert Street and 1st Avenue.
As a result of this investigation, thirty-nine year-old Mihail OBLACOV of Regina, is charged with:
- Failure to Stop After Accident [CC 320.16(1)];
- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm [CT 320.12(2)]; and
- Assault of a Peace Officer [CC 270(1)(A)]; and
- Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle X3 [CC 333.1(1)]; and
- Assault [CC 266].
OBLACOV made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this afternoon, July 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
