A 24 year-old male is charged following a street robbery.
At approximately 2:50 a.m. Saturday July 4, 2026, police were called to the 700 block of Victoria Avenue for a report that a male victim had been bear sprayed.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim suffering from the effects of bear spray. Through investigation officers learned the victim was walking in the area when he was approached by a male suspect unknown to him. The suspect assaulted the victim with bear spray before taking money from the victim and leaving the scene.
Officers searched the area and, a short time later, located the suspect inside a hotel room in the 800 block of Victoria Avenue. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Officers located a canister of bear spray inside the room.
As a result, 24 year-old Arrow MANITOPYES is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(b)];and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1].
MANITOPYES made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning, July 6, 2026.
