On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Arnason Street for the report of an injured male. Initial Information indicated that the victim had approached an individual and requested EMS. He was found to have injuries consistent with multiple stab wounds.
Police and EMS arrived on scene and located the victim, who was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Through investigation, police obtained a description of the suspect. A short time later, police observed a male matching the description walking southbound on Arnason Street. He was arrested without incident. A search of the suspect following the arrest revealed a knife.
As a result of this investigation, a 17 year-old male, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault [CC 268(1)];
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)];
- Fail to Comply with Disposition [YCJA 137].
The accused made their first appearance on these charges in Youth Provincial Court, this morning, Monday, June 9, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
