Three male youths, ages 12, 13 and 14 were issued over $3,900 in traffic tickets after refusing to stop for police while riding e-dirtbikes/e-scooter at high speeds through the streets and pathways of northwest Regina. The RPS Aerial Support Unit eventually tracked the youth to their residences.
The incident began at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. An officer with the Traffic Safety Unit was patrolling in the area of Lakeridge Road and Rochdale Blvd. when they observed four youth, three were riding e-dirtbikes and the fourth was on an e-scooter. The youth were not complying with the rules of the road. The officer activated his emergency lights and attempted to pull them over, but the youth did not stop. Officers on the ground alerted the Aerial Support Unit (ASU), which was quickly able to get a visual on the youth as they fled into a green space in the area. ASU directed the two officers on the ground to the greenspace. Three of the youth fled when they saw police. The fourth remained and spoke to police.
A short time later, police attended to the residences of all three youth. Each was issued $1,310 in traffic fines.
