Three people are facing charges following a traffic stop.
On Monday June 2, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of Queen Street in response to a report of an attempted assault. Initial information indicated that three males had attempted to assault the victim before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
A short time later, police located the vehicle driving in the 1400 block of Edward Street and conducted a traffic stop. The three occupants were arrested without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed the following:
- Items consistent with drug trafficking
- Approximately 280 grams of cocaine
- Approximately 2.37 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms
- A loaded firearm
As a result of this investigation, 18 year-old Abdirazak Mohamed KADIR, is charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B)];
- Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86(2)];
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 92(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii)];
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition [CC 95(1)(B)];
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)];
18 year-old Charles RUSSEL and 19 year-old Hussein Gamachu HUSSEIN are also charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)].
The accused made their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning, June 3, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
