A 25 year-old male is facing 15 charges related to drug trafficking and firearms possession following an investigation by the Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU).
On May 20, 2025, two CDSA search warrants were executed. The first took place at a business in the 100 block of Dewdney Avenue. Members of the RDU and the SWAT team conducted the search and the following was located:
- 2 kilograms of methamphetamine
- 2 ounces of cocaine
- 1 ounce of pink cocaine (believed to mixture of cocaine, MDMA, and ketamine)
- $53,670.00 in Canadian currency
- 2 x .40 caliber handguns and ammunition
- 1 rifle and ammunition
- 1 shotgun and ammunition
- Other weapons and drug packaging
- Mobile phones
Later the same day (May 20, 2025), the RDU and the SWAT Unit executed a second CDSA search warrant in relation to this investigation. The search of a residence in the 2000 block of Wallace Street resulted in the following items being located and seized:
- Approximately 2 kilograms of methamphetamine
- Approximately .5 of a kilogram of fentanyl
- 6 ounces of cocaine
- ¼ ounce of pink cocaine
- A loaded, prohibited 9mm handgun and ammunition
- Drug packaging, scales, mobile phones and other indicators of drug trafficking
Twenty-five year-old Mikhael FERNANDEZ was arrested and is charged with:
- 3 x Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of the Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [CC 355];
- 3 x Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86(2)];
- 5 x Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 92(1)];
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition [CC95(1)(A)];and
- 2 x Possession of a Loaded or Restricted Firearm [CC 95(1)].
  FERNANDEZ made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on May 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
