On Thursday, January 30th, 2025, at approximately 9:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Victoria Avenue for the report of a firearms offence. Information received indicated there were individuals inside the building with what appeared to be a firearm.
Officers, including from the Explosive Disposal Unit and SWAT team, arrived and canvassed the area. Shortly after 3:30 p.m., officers took four suspects into custody. Subsequently, two of them were charged.
As a result of this investigation, 34 year-old Dwight ASAPACE, of Regina, is charged with:
• Failure to Comply with Conditions [CC 145(5)(A)];
• Possession of a Firearm x6 [CC 117.01(1)];
• Possession of an Unauthorized Firearm [CC 92(1)];
• Possession of an Prohibited Weapon [CC 92(2)];
• Careless use of a Firearm [CC 86(1)];
• Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86(2)]; and
• Reckless Discharge of a Firearm [CC 244.2(1)(B)].
Twenty-four year-old Taylor ASAPACE, of Regina, is charged with:
• Failure to Comply with Conditions [CC 145(5)(A)].
The accused made their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning, January 31st, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
