On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., police received a report that a parked vehicle was stolen from a residence in the 1300 block of Athol Street.At approximately 1:20 a.m., police observed the same vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Angus Street, and a male get into the vehicle and drive away. Officers tracked the vehicle and deployed a tire deflation device in the area of 1300 block Angus Street. Police continued to track the vehicle, and a short time later, the vehicle came to a stop near the 4000 block of Castle Road. The suspect was subsequently arrested without incident at a nearby business and charged for the following offences.
Twenty-seven year-old Alvin Klancy KAKAKAWAY, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)];
- Fail to Comply with Condition of an Undertaking [CC 145(4)(A)]; and
- Fail to Comply with Condition of a Release Order [CC 145(5)(A).
KAKAKAWAY will make his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, October 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
