A 34 year-old male has been arrested and charged after investigation into an assault with a weapon that occurred on Thursday, June 20, 2024, which was the subject of a previous news release. At approximately 11:25 a.m. that day, police were dispatched the 4100 block of 17th Avenue. Police arrived and located two injured adults who had been assaulted by an unknown male with a knife. Another victim had also been assaulted without a weapon by the male.
Police began investigation to identify the assailant. Investigation led to a 34 year-old male, who was arrested on July 2, 2024, and subsequently charged.
Thirty-four year-old Vandel Chad FRIDAY, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 X Attempt Murder [CC 239]; and
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm [CC 267(B)].
FRIDAY made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
