On Saturday, June 1, 2024, at approximately 8:10 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on the 1500 block of Cameron Street for the report of a break and enter in progress. Five males forced their way into the home and threatened the resident. Police arrived and the males were arrested on scene. Some of the males were found to be in breach of conditions, as well as subjects of outstanding warrants. Upon arrest, one male falsely identified himself to police and was charged with obstruction.
As a result, 31 year-old Dale CHURCHILL, 34 year-old Michael James FRITZ, 38 year-old Bradley Richard LAKEMAN, and 49 year-old Michael Collin NEWMAN, all of Regina, and 45 year-old William Joseph SMIDT of North Battleford, are jointly charged with:
- Break, Enter, & Commit [CC 348(1)(B)]
CHURCHILL is also charged with:
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)].
LAKEMAN is also charged with:
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)].
SMIDT is also charged with:
- Obstruct Peace Officer [CC 129(A)] ; and
- Fail to Comply with Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)].
The accused made their first appearances on these charges in Provincial Court this morning, June 3, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
