A 16 year-old male youth is facing a charge of Second-Degree Murder in relation to a homicide that occurred on December 21, 2023.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. on December 21, 2023, Patrol officers were dispatched to 1300 block of Retallack Street for a report of an injured adult male. When they arrived, they located a seriously injured male victim outside a residence. The male victim, whose name will not be released, was taken by EMS to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 16 year-old male youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The 16 year-old youth is charged with:
- Second-Degree Murder [CC 235(1)].
The youth made his first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Court this morning (Friday, January 26, 2024) at 9:30 a.m.
