A 54 year-old male is charged with Sexual Interference and Sexual Assault as the result of an investigation by the Regina Children’s Justice Centre, a specialized integrated unit of the police service that combines police investigators with social workers to investigate allegations of child abuse.
The investigation began on January 4, 2024 when police received a report that two female youths, 12 and 13 years-old, had been sexually assaulted by an employee of a business in the 400 block of Albert Street North. The youths told police that the assault took place in the back room of the business and that the employee had been calling and texting them for several weeks prior. The youths first met the suspect when they attended to the business which offers entertainment services, primarily, to children.
As a result of this investigation, 54 year-old Naveed IRSHAD is charged with:
- 2 x Sexual Interference [151 CC]; and
- 2 x Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 [CC 271].
IRSHAD was released on conditions and will make his first court appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court at 9:30 on February 13, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
