At approximately 2:45 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024, Patrol officers attempted to pull over a truck travelling eastbound on 8th Avenue near Rae St. The driver did not stop but, instead, turned down an alley between Rae Street and Retallack Street and carried on. Officers were able to safely follow the vehicle until the suspect driver eventually pulled over in the 2100 Block of Rae Street, exited the vehicle and ran.
A Canine Unit team began a track in an attempt to locate the female suspect. She was found hiding underneath a vehicle. The Police Service Dog made contact with the suspect during the arrest. The suspect was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries consistent with a dog bite.
As a result of this investigation, 24 year-old Christine Jade SHEEPSKIN is charged with:
- Flight from Peace Officer [CC 320.17];
SHEEPSKIN made her first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Court, Monday, January 15, 2023 at 2 p.m.
