An adult male and two adult females are facing a number of drug and weapons-related charges following a traffic stop last night, January 15, 2024.
Shortly before midnight, a member of the Canine Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of 4th Avenue and Elphinstone Street. The officer approached the driver’s side of the vehicle to speak with the driver and discovered the driver did not have a license. While at the driver’s side window, the officer observed two female passengers in the vehicle. Next to the passenger in the back seat, the officer could see a container with a white substance on top that appeared to be drugs.
All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested. A search of the vehicle and the three suspects turned up:
- Various quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine;
- Knives;
- Baton
- Cash; and
- Items used to package drugs for trafficking.
As a result of this investigation, 44 year-old Shane Edward Hermann is charged with:
- 3 x Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)]; and
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B))].
Forty-two year-old Cleo HAMILTON is charged with:
- 3 x Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)]; and
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B))]; and
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90].
Twenty-Seven year-old Celina NAYNEECASSUM is charged with:
- 3 x Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B))]; and
- 4 x Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90].
HERMANN, HAMILTON and NAYNEECASSUM all made their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this afternoon (January 16, 2024) at 2:00 p.m.
