The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroner Service, has begun a sudden death investigation after an incident this morning, Friday, February 2nd, at a business on the 400 block of MacDonald Street in Regina.
At approximately 8:55 a.m. on February 2nd, 2024, police were dispatched to the business on the report of an industrial accident. Police, Fire, EMS, and the Coroner attended to the area of the accident and located two injured adult persons, and confirmed the death of one of those persons. EMS attended to the surviving injured person, who was transported to hospital.
As in any death investigation, the immediate priorities are to identify the deceased individual and notify next of kin. This is ongoing. Police also investigate to gather as much information as possible to establish the circumstances of the death. In this case, police are also assisting Occupational Health and Safety as this incident may be considered a workplace fatality.
