On Saturday, December 16, 2023, at approximately 11:40 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Wascana Street for the report of an assault. Information received was that a male had been physically assaulted by another male in the east alley of Wascana Street.
The suspect male was seen walking eastbound on 7th Avenue near King Street. Police approached the suspect, who began cursing and swung his fist at the officer, knocking off the officer’s sunglasses. The officer gained control of the suspect’s arms, getting him to the ground, where the suspect continued to fight. The suspect was taken into custody. After being escorted to a detention cell, after officers removed his handcuffs, the suspect punched an officer on the chin as the door to his cell was being closed.
Forty-two year-old Justin Andre ROSS, of Regina, is charged with:
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm [CC 267(b)]; and
- 2 X Assault Peace Officer [CC 270(1)(a)].
ROSS was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on January 24, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
