A 59 year-old Regina male has been charged with Uttering Threats after investigation into a threatening e-mail. The e-mail was received by the Prime Minister’s Office in Ottawa on May 1, 2021, and forwarded to the Regina Police Service on May 5, 2021.
At about 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, the Regina Police Communications Centre received a call from the office of the Prime Minister indicating they’d received an e-mail containing threats of damage to the Legislative Building and Queen’s Bench Court, as well as threats to the safety of an out-of-province physician and a retired judge. The Watch Commander was advised and RPS Major Crimes was tasked with the investigation. This investigation led to the Regina residence of a 59 year-old male. He was taken into custody the afternoon of May 5th, without incident.
Fifty-nine year-old Harold Christopher Charles RINGLINE, of Regina, is charged with one global charge of Uttering Threats, contrary to section 264.1(1)(b) CC. RINGLINE made his first appearance on this charge before Provincial Court at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
