The Regina Police Service reports that a male, now known to be a 50 year-old Regina male, is deceased following a collision involving a train that happened at about 6:45 a.m. this morning, October 30, 2013.
Police were called to the railway tracks near North Railway Street, between York and Alexandra Streets. It appeared that a male pedestrian was struck by a west-bound train at the location. The male was transported to hospital by EMS in what was described as very serious condition. Just before 10:30 a.m., it was confirmed that the male had died in hospital. There is no foul play suspected. The investigation is led by the Office of the Chief Coroner with assistance from the Regina Police Service, if required.
The name of the deceased person will not be released by the Regina Police Service.
