On May 29, 2026 at 12:40 p.m., a School Resource Officer (SRO) received a report that two students from a school in the 5600 Block of 7th Avenue were shot at with, what was believed to be, a BB gun while walking to school. One victim sustained, what appeared to be, minor injuries.
Investigation led by the School Resource Unit led officers to the suspects and suspect vehicle, where they located an “Orbeez” gun (gel blaster) inside.
As a result of this investigation, a 16 year-old male youth, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)].
The youth will make their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Youth Court on July 9, 2026.
