On May 29, 2026, at approximately 5:45 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Broad Street for a report of a male waving a firearm.
Officers arrived moments later and located the suspect. He was taken into custody without incident. During a search, subsequent to the arrest, officers located a 9mm handgun tucked into the suspect’s waist band.
As a result of the investigation, 47 year-old Eric STANDING was charged with the following:
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
• Pointing a Firearm [CC 87];
• Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [CC 86(1)]; and
• Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)].
STANDING made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on May 29, 2026.
