A 35 year-old male is facing charges related to a weapons offence involving a machete.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, the Regina Police Service Communications Centre received multiple calls saying an adult male suspect was outside a business in the 4200 block of Rochdale Boulevard waving a machete around. The male suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Officers searched the suspect, subsequent to arrest, and located a machete tucked into the waistband of his shorts.
As a result of this investigation, 35 year-old Royce JASPER is charged with:
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- 2 x Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(a)]; and
- Possession of Weapon [CC 88].
JASPER will make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on July 9, 2026.
