An adult male and adult female are facing charges following a stolen vehicle investigation.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, officers were patrolling in the area of Winnipeg Street and 6th Avenue when they observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen. There were two occupants inside. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver carried on, running a red light and driving at speeds of more than 100 km/h.
Officers followed the vehicle for a short distance, but as it picked up speed, they disengaged. A short time later, officers located the vehicle, abandoned in the 1100 block of Wallace Street. Â Further investigation revealed the occupants had been picked up by another vehicle and left the scene.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., officers located the suspects in a vehicle that was travelling on Arcola Avenue East. All four occupants inside the vehicle were taken into custody. A firearm was visible in the back seat.
As a result of investigation, it was determined that the two back-seat passengers were the suspects who had abandoned the stolen vehicle earlier in the night.
