An adult male and adult female are facing charges following a stolen vehicle investigation.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, officers were patrolling in the area of Winnipeg Street and 6th Avenue when they observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen. There were two occupants inside. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver carried on, running a red light and driving at speeds of more than 100 km/h.
Officers followed the vehicle for a short distance, but as it picked up speed, they disengaged. A short time later, officers located the vehicle, abandoned in the 1100 block of Wallace Street. Further investigation revealed the occupants had been picked up by another vehicle and left the scene.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., officers located the suspects in a vehicle that was travelling on Arcola Avenue East. All four occupants inside the vehicle were taken into custody. A firearm was visible in the back seat.
As a result of investigation, it was determined that the two back-seat passengers were the suspects who had abandoned the stolen vehicle earlier in the night.
