Two adult males are facing charges following an armed robbery that took place last night, December 11, 2025, in the 400 block of Broad Street North.
At approximately 8:15 p.m., police received a report that a male suspect, carrying a firearm, was running down the street in the area of 9th Avenue North and Broad Street. The caller told police the suspect got into a waiting vehicle before it drove away. While officers were on route, a second report came in. A business in that area had just been robbed at gunpoint. The suspect got away with cash and cigarettes.
Officers located the suspect vehicle near 8th Avenue North and Ottawa Place. They attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle drove away at a high rate of speed. Officers did not follow the vehicle. A short distance away, the driver of the suspect vehicle lost control and ended up stuck on the sidewalk.
Prior to police arrival, the passenger exited the vehicle and fled the scene. The driver was arrested and taken into custody without further incident. A quick search of the area by officers resulted in the location of the second suspect. He was found hiding in a nearby yard. A search of the suspect vehicle turned up a firearm, cash and cigarettes.
