A 34 year-old male is facing charges following a Break and Enter to a garage in the 900 block of Queen Street over the weekend.
Police were called to the area at approximately 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, for a report that someone was inside a garage that was not theirs. The RPS Aerial Support Unit immediately located the suspect and followed him from above as he fled the scene and hid under a deck a short distance away.
Patrol and Canine officers were directed by ASU officers to the suspect’s location. The suspect did not respond to officer commands to come out from under the deck and was actively resisting arrest. The Police Service Dog was deployed and bit the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. He was transported to hospital by EMS where he was treated for injuries consistent with a dog bite.
As a result of this investigation, 34 year-old Ian NAHNEPOWISK is charged with:
- Break and Enter with Intent [CC 348(1)(A)].
NAHNEPOWISK will make his first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Court on December 16, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
