Drivers in Regina may have noticed more officers on the streets over the last week. Police partners from across the province gathered in the city for the annual Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) blitz. S.T.E.P. brings together provincial resources to focus on traffic enforcement and education in different Saskatchewan communities throughout the year.
This year’s Regina S.T.E.P. blitz took place on Tuesday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The event was hosted by the Regina Police Service in partnership with SGI and included representatives from the Saskatoon Police Service, Estevan Police Service, Prince Albert Combined Traffic Services (CTSS), Saskatchewan Highway Patrol, RCMP, and SGI Carrier Safety Services and Vehicle Standards and Inspection.
Officers and civilian staff from the participating organizations worked together with a shared focus on improving road safety, with the ultimate goal of reducing injuries and fatalities on Saskatchewan roads. The two-day project involved traffic stop checks at several locations throughout Regina. Enforcement efforts were concentrated on speeding, unregistered vehicles, proper use of car seats, illegal cell phone use, and seat belt violations. Officers were also watching for other offences, including impaired driving.
