As per the Saskatchewan Police Act, 1990, the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (*SIRT) has been called to investigate following an officer-involved shooting that occurred last evening in Regina.
During the course of an investigation, Regina Police Service officers discharged their firearms fatally wounding an individual. The incident took place at approximately 11:00 p.m. in the 3000 block of East Haughton Road.
We understand that this incident is of significant public interest and ask for patience as the facts are gathered. Because this is an active SIRT investigation, no further information will be provided by the Regina Police Service. Additional information will be provided by SIRT as it becomes available.
