A third person is facing charges in relation to an investigation into a firearms offence that resulted in an 11 year-old girl being seriously injured.
Officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Edgar Street shortly after 2:00 a.m. on August 11, 2025. When they arrived, they found an 11-year-old female inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries.
Over the past five weeks, investigators have worked diligently to locate and hold the offenders accountable. Last evening, Thursday, September 18, 2025, a third suspect, a 41 year-old male, was taken into custody and charged.
Forty-one year-old Michael MAYER is charged with:
- Attempt Murder [CC 239];
- Reckless Discharge of a Firearm [CC 244.2(1)(B)];
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii)];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized. [CC 92(1)]:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000[CC 355(a)].
- Conspiracy to Commit Murder [CC 465(1)(A)];and
- 2 x Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)].
MAYER will make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning, September 19, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
Earlier this week, 20 year-old Anthony NAHBEXIE and 18 year-old Devon NAHBEXIE were arrested and charged in relation to this investigation.
