Robbery Investigation Leads to Multiple Firearms and Weapons Charges

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, at approximately 8:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to 8^th Avenue and Princess Street for a report of a robbery in progress.

When they arrived on scene, they met with the male victim who told police he was standing on the street, when a vehicle drove by, circled the block and then came back and stopped in front of him. A male suspect exited the vehicle, approached the victim and attempted to grab the chain from around his neck. The victim was able to back away and contact police.

Approximately 20 minutes later, officers observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 900 block of East Victoria Avenue.

Officers approached the vehicle and arrested all five occupants. A search subsequent to arrest turned up:

• Loaded shotgun
• Rifle
• Ammunition
• 7 knives
• Hatchet
• Bear spray
• Drugs
• Items used in drug trafficking
• Cash

As a result of the investigation, five people are facing charges.

Forty-seven year-old Steven BREEN is charged with:

• Robbery [CC 344(1)(b)];
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(b)];
• 2 x Store Firearm Or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations [CC 86(2)];
• 2 x Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
• 2 x Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii)];
• 2 x Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm [CC 95(1)];
• 733.1(1) of CC – Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Twenty-five year-old Nicholas BENDER is charged with:

• Robbery [CC 344(1)(b)];
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(b)];
• 2 x Store Firearm Or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations [CC 86(2)];
• 2 x Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
• 2 x Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii)];
• 2 x Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm [CC 95(1)];
• 7 x  Breach of Firearm Prohibition per Probation Order [CC 117.01(1)];
• Breach of a Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)]; and
• Fail to Comply with a Release Order [CC 145(5)(a)];

Thirty-one year-old Jordan FAYANT is charged with:

• Robbery [CC 344(1)(b)];
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(b)];
• 2 x Store Firearm Or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations [CC 86(2)];
• 2 x Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
• 2 x Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii)];
• 2 x Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm [CC 95(1)];
• 3 x  Breach of Firearm Prohibition per Mandatory Order of Prohibition [CC 117.01(1)];
• Carrying Concealed Weapon [CC 90]; and
• Section 5(2) of CDSA – Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)].

Thirty-eight year-old Bradley LEDOUX is charged with:

• Robbery [CC 344(1)(b)];
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(b)];
• 2 x Store Firearm Or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations [CC 86(2)];
• 2 x Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
• 2 x Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii)];
• 2 x Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm [CC 95(1)];
• 5 x Breach of Firearm Prohibition per Mandatory Order of Prohibition [CC 117.01(1)];
• Fail to Comply with a Release Order [CC 145(5)(a)];

Twenty-year-old Autumnrain SANGWAIS is charged with:

• Robbery [CC 344(1)(b)];
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(b)];
• 2 x Store Firearm Or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations [CC 86(2)];
• 2 x Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
• 2 x Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii)];
• 2 x Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm [CC 95(1)];

All five made their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court, Monday, August 11, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
