Firearms Charges Laid Following Evade  

An investigation into a suspicious vehicle resulted in two adult males facing multiple firearms charges.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, RPS Aerial Support Unit (ASU) officers were patrolling from the air when they observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Third Avenue and Montague Street. They alerted officers on the ground and a traffic stop was attempted. The vehicle did not stop for police and carried on at a high rate of speed through the city. ASU was able to follow the suspect vehicle from the air until it came to a stop on Mallard Avenue. Both occupants of the vehicle then exited the vehicle and fled into a nearby greenspace. ASU continued to track them from the air and directed officers on the ground to their location. The two suspects were arrested without further incident. ASU officers also observed the suspects throwing items as they fled.  A search subsequent to arrest turned up those items, a loaded, sawed-off shotgun and a pellet gun.

As a result of this investigation, 36 year-old Evan Earl BAGE, is charged with:

• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 92(1)];
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii);
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
• Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86(2)];
• Possession of a Loaded or Restricted Firearm [CC 95(1)];
• 3 X Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)].
• Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)].
• Flight from Peace Officer [CT 320,17];
• Operate Conveyance Dangerous to Public [CT 320.12(1)].

Twenty-six year-old Eugene Shane BEAULIEU is charged with:

• Possession of a Loaded or Restricted Firearm [CC 95(1)];
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 92(1)];
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii);
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
• Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86(2)];
• 3 x Possession of a Firearm or ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)];

Both of the accused made their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on June 2, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
