On Sunday, April 6, 2025, at approximately 9:35 p.m., officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle believed to be involved in a previous incident in the area of Rae Street and 4th Avenue. While emergency lights were activated, the driver evaded police at a high rate of speed.
The Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit (ASU) continued surveillance of the vehicle, which was travelling at a high rate of speed through the city. ASU tracked the vehicle going northbound on Pasqua Street, and eventually exiting the city. With the assistance of ASU, officers on the ground deployed a tire deflation device on a grid road northeast of Regina.
The vehicle continued travelling northbound until members of the Regina Police Service Tactical Support Unit successfully stopped it. Two suspects were located inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested without incident, while the passenger, who refused to exit the vehicle, was safely apprehended with the assistance of a Police Service Dog. The suspect was then transported to hospital and treated for minor injuries from the dog bite.
