A 42 year-old female and 37 year-old male are facing multiples charges after a male was assaulted and robbed in the city’s east end.
Shortly after midnight on January 17, 2024, patrol officers near Broad Street and Saskatchewan Drive observed a vehicle run a red light. When they pulled the driver over, they found the male driver was injured. The passenger window was also smashed.
The driver told police he had just been assaulted and robbed by multiple people in an alley in the 1600 block of 8th Avenue North. One of the suspects, a 42 year-old female was known to the victim and travelled with him to the location of the assault. The victim told police he was robbed of his phone and a large sum of cash.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for multiple head injuries.
Further investigation led police to the victim’s hotel room, where it was discovered all of his belongings had also been stolen, including a watch valued at approximately $7,000. The female suspect, who had been with the victim prior to and during the assault and robbery, was one of two suspects seen on security footage entering the victim’s room and leaving with his belongings.
Based on the investigation, warrants were issued for both 42 year-old Bobbie BERG and 37 year-old Jarret TRESSEL.
TRESSEL turned himself in to police on February 10, 2025. BERG turned herself into police on February 12, 2025. Both are charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B);and
- Theft Over $5,000 [CC334(A)].
TRESSEL made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on February 11, 2024. BERG made her first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on Thursday, February 13 at 9:30 a.m.
