A 31 year-old man is facing multiple charges following a one-month investigation by the Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU).
On Thursday, November 14, the RDU, assisted by members of the SWAT and Canine Units, executed search warrants at two different residences within the city of Regina; one on Shaw Street, the other in the 1800 block of Scarth Street.
The suspect, Elias HASSAN, was located and arrested, on the same day, without incident outside a business on Hodsman Road. At the time of his arrest, HASSAN was in possession of one kilogram of Cocaine. Over the course of the investigation the following evidence was seized:
- Over two kilograms of Cocaine;
- Items used in drug trafficking; and
- Canadian Currency.
As a result, HASSAN is charged with the following:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5 (2)];
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B)];
- Traffic in Scheduled Substance [CDSA 5(1)];
- Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [CC 355.2];
- Possession of a Forged Document with Intent [CC 368(1)(D)]; and
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)].
HASSAN made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning (November 15, 2024) at 9:30 a.m.
