On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at approximately 4:45 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of Howe Place for the report of a stolen automobile in progress. Police arrived and learned that an unknown suspect had driven off with the victim’s vehicle.
Police were able to locate the described vehicle in the area Lewvan Drive and 1st Avenue N. Police successfully deployed a tire deflation device on 13th Avenue and Lewvan Drive, but the vehicle driver refused to pull over and continued driving.
In the area of 28th Avenue and Argyle Street, police, including members of the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team, were able to surround the vehicle, preventing it from driving further. The driver refused to exit the vehicle, and a Police Service Dog was used to apprehend the male. The male was then arrested, identified, and found to be under court-ordered conditions not to be in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. The male was subsequently charged for his offenses.
