During the early morning hours of Thursday, October 10, 2024, at approximately 3:20 a.m., police were notified that a group of males entered a compound on the 1300 block of McCara Street and stole four vehicles.
Later that day, police located two of the trucks, badly damaged, on the rail tracks northeast of the theft location. A male was walking away from the damaged vehicles. The male was detained in the 1200 block of Park Street, and further investigation confirmed he was involved in the theft of the automobiles, as well as damaging a railway switch. The male was identified and found to be in breach of conditions of probation. He was subsequently charged for these offences.
Forty-two year-old Tyler John CRABBE, of Regina, is charged with:
- Break and Enter and Commit [CC 348(1)(B)];
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)]; and
- Mischief Over $5,000 [CC 430(3)].
CRABBE made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court, Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
Just after noon on Thursday, October 10, 2024, CP Police located one of the stolen vehicles in Pilot Butte. Members of White Butte RCMP, CP Police, and Regina Police Service approached the vehicle and the arrested the driver, a 25 year-old female, for possession of the stolen vehicle. She was identified and also found to be in breach of conditions of a release order.
As a result, 25 year-old Rachel Anne CYR, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)].
CYR is scheduled to make her first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
