A female is facing charges after investigation into fraud by the Regina Police Service Financial Crimes Unit.
Between the dates of January 2019 through to June 2024, it is alleged that an adult female fraudulently received benefits from the Ministry of Social Services. She collected income assistance benefits while falsely claiming to be unemployed. Upon being found to be employed, she then received benefits by providing false identity information by use of the identity of others. In all, the suspect fraudulently received financial benefit totaling $47,985.44.
As a result, 27 year-old Danniela MORGAN, of Pilot Butte, is charged with:
- Fraud Over $5,000 [CC 380(1)(A)];
- 2 X Fraud Under $5,000 [CC 380(1)(B)];
- 2 X Identity Theft [CC 402.2(1)]; and
- 2 X Identity Fraud [CC 403(1)(A)].
MORGAN is scheduled to make her first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
