A man is charged with attempt murder after an assault with a weapon that took place on Friday, June 28th, 2024, which was the subject of a previous news release..
At approximately 11:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the 4100 block of 5th Avenue for the report of a weapons offence. An adult male had been assaulted and had suffered severe injury, and the assailant had fled the scene.
As a result of investigation, a 33 year-old Regina male was located on July 28, 2024, in the 2900 block of 13th Avenue, arrested and charged. At the time of his arrest he was in possession of a bladed weapon, and also charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
As a result, Linus James Junior KAYSYAWAYSEMAT is charged with
• Attempted Murder [CC 239]; and
• Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90].
KAYSYAWAYSEMAT made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on July 29, 2024.
