On Sunday, August 11, 2024, at approximately 12:10 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1000 Wallace Street for the report of a weapons offence. Information received was that people had been shot at by a group of young persons. No one had been hit by bullets.
Police investigation led to a 16 year-old male youth, who was arrested at his residence on the morning of August 12, 2024. Police also seized a firearm and ammunition from the residence.
A 16 year-old Regina youth, who will not be named in keeping with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Possession of Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- Discharge A Firearm in Reckless Manner [CC 244.2(1)(B)];
- 2 X Possess Firearm / Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)]; and
- Fail to Comply with Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)].
The youth made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court today, Tuesday August 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
