On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at approximately 1:10 a.m., police were dispatched to a robbery in progress at the intersection of 11th Avenue and Osler Street. Information received was that the victim had been threatened and robbed by a male with a weapon.
Police arrived and were given a suspect description of a male who had fled the scene. A short time later, police located a male matching the description in the 1900 block of Ottawa Street who was arrested without incident. A search revealed the victims belongings and the weapon.
As a result, 21 year-old Aiden Travis JIM Jr of Regina was arrested and charged for the following offences:
• Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)]; and
• Obstruction of Peace Officer [CC 129(A)]; and
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90]; and
• Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000 [CC 355(B)].
Investigation also linked him to a robbery and forcible confinement incident which dates back to April 11, 2024.
As a result, JIM Jr was also arrested and charged for the following offences:
• Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)]; and
• Forcible Confinement [CC 279(2)].
The accused will make their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this afternoon, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
