On the evening of Saturday, June 14, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle travelling westbound on Saskatchewan Drive.
Officers approached the vehicle and observed two machetes in the rear of the vehicle. The four occupants were arrested for the possession of a weapon. A search upon arrest revealed two machetes, a BB gun, two cans of bear spray, a container of BB’s and several air canisters for the BB gun inside the vehicle.
Four male youths, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are jointly charged with:
• Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public [CC 88]
The accused will their first appearance on these charges in Youth Provincial Court on July 23, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
