On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at approximately 1:15 a.m., police were dispatched to the 700 block of Cameron Street for the report of weapons offence. Information received stated that an adult female showed up to the residence stating that she had been stabbed.
Police arrived and located the 32 year-old female, who had injuries consistent with a stabbing assault. EMS attended to the scene and transported the victim to hospital for further medical treatment.
Investigation led to the assailant, who was located nearby, and provided police with a false identity. The 51 year-old male was properly identified, and charged with obstruction, and taken into custody without further incident. In addition to being charged for the assault, he was also found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant.
Fifty-one year-old Lonnie Ray WHITEHAWK, of Regina, is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)]; and
- Obstruct Peace Officer [CC 129(A)].
WHITEHAWK made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this morning, Monday June 17, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
