On the early morning of Thursday, December 7, 2023, at approximately 1:10 a.m., police observed a vehicle that appeared to have struck a metal construction fence on the 1000 block of Angus Street. After a check of the license plate of the vehicle, it was revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen.
A search of the vehicle yielded personal property bearing the name of a 24 year-old male, who was subsequently arrested by police on his way back to the vehicle to get the property.
Twenty-four year-old Barry Travis James AKAPEW, of Regina, is charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1(1)].
AKAPEW makes his first appearance on this charge in Provincial Court on January 25, 2024.
