The Regina Police Service is asking for information from the public that could assist in an assault investigation. At approximately 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, police and EMS were called to
Wascana Drive, near the Wascana Rowing and Canoe Club for a report of an assault involving bear spray.
When police arrived they found two male victims in distress, visibly suffering from the effects of bear spray. EMS treated the two male victims on scene. Investigation led police to four other victims suffering
minor effects from exposure to the spray. Witnesses told police that they and the victims were walking in the area when a group of five young adults approached them and two of them sprayed the victims with bear mace. Wind carried the spray to a second group walking nearby.
The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect 1: Male, approximately 12-14 years old wearing a red hoodie.
Suspect 2: Male, approximately 12-14 years old wearing a white hoodie with cursive writing on it.
There were also three to four females in the group.
