Adult Males Charged with Weapons/Drug Offences
On Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 2100 block of 11th Avenue, for a report of a firearms offence. Information was received that two males had entered the business and one of them had a firearm.
Upon arrival, police located the suspects and arrested two adult males without incident. A search of the males led to the retrieval of a firearm along with drugs including fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine. Bear Spray was also seized from one of the males.
Twenty seven year-old Brandon Perra, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking-Methamphetamine, s. 5(2) CDSA;
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking-Fentanyl, s. 5(2) CDSA;
- Carrying a concealed weapon, s. 90 CC;
- Possession of a weapon, s. 88 CC;
- Possession of a firearm knowing it’s possession is unauthorized, s. 92(1) CC;
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, s. 117.01(1) CC.
Nineteen year old Lachlan Rabut, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking-Cocaine, s. 5(2) CDSA;
- Carrying a concealed weapon, s. 90 CC;
- Possession of a weapon, s. 88 CC.
Perra and Rabut will make their first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
