On Thursday, February 16, 2023, at approximately 1:35 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence on the 2000 block of Osler Street for the report of a weapons offence involving a knife. Information received was that a male stabbed another male and fled in a vehicle.
Police arrived and observed the victim of the weapons offence, a 14 year-old male. EMS attended to the male who was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. It was learned that a fight had broken out at a gathering and a male had brought out a knife and assaulted another young male.
Further investigation into the matter led to a 16 year-old male, who was later located and arrested.
A 16 year-old Regina youth, who will not be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with Attempt Murder [CC 239].
The youth made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court yesterday, Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
