On September 9, 2022, members of the Regina Police Service conducted enforcement on several persons at a number of addresses in Regina, in relation to a firearms investigation. This investigation was led by members of the RPS Gang Unit and Property Crimes Unit with support from other investigative units within the Regina Police Service, including the RPS Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team.
Search warrants were executed under the authority of the Criminal Code at several locations, including residences in the 900 block of Lindsay Street, the 1400 block of Queen Street, and the 600 block of Pasqua Street. Investigators seized three prohibited firearms, ammunition, and evidence relating to other property-related offences. As a result of this investigation three adult males and one adult female are facing charges.
Twenty eight year-old Joshua Christopher SHORE is charged with:
- Possession of a firearm while prohibited – S. 117.01(1)
- Possession of ammunition while prohibited – S. 117.01(1)
- Possession of stolen property over $5000– 355(a)
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition – S. 95(1)(b)
- Careless storage of a firearm – S. 86(1)
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime – S. 96(1)
- Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – S. 92(1).
Thirty-six year-old Edmond Scott GORDON is charged with:
- Possession of a firearm while prohibited – S. 117.01(1)
- Possession of ammunition while prohibited – S. 117.01(1)
- Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – S. 92(1)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle – S. 94(1)
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition – S. 95(1)(b)
- Breach of Release Order – 145(5)(a).
Thirty-five year-old William Wayne STARR is charged with:
- Possession of ammunition while prohibited – S. 117.01(1)
- Possession of stolen property under $5000– S. 355(b).
Investigation into a break and enter at a residence in Regina on September 9, 2022 also resulted in Joshua SHORE and 31 year-old Roxanne FRANKO being charged with break and enter, contrary to section 348(1)(b).
All four accused made their first court appearances in Provincial Court on September 12, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
