A 15 year-old male is facing multiple charges in connection to three robberies that occurred in Regina during the first week of July.
Between July 4th and 5th, Regina Police Services opened investigations into three separate robberies involving bear spray in the city:
- July 4, 2022 – food delivery person was robbed on 20 block of McGillivray Crescent
- July 5, 2022 – food delivery person was robbed on 4000 block of 2nd Avenue North
- July 5, 2022 – food delivery person was robbed on 4000 block of 2nd Avenue North
Although there were similarities in the cases leading police to suspect the crimes were related, it was not until further into the investigations that a potential suspect was identified. Efforts by the Robbery Unit resulted in the arrest of a 15 year-old male suspect on July 14th.
A 15 year-old cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The 15 year-old is charged with:
- 3x Armed Robbery using a Restricted Firearm or Prohibited Firearm, s. 344(1)(a) CC; and
- 3x Disguise with Intent, s. 3351(2) CC
The accused youth made his first court appearance on these charges in Youth Court on Friday, July 15, 2022.
