Regina Police Service members are in the midst of an investigation in east Regina that caused the evacuation of a retail business this morning (Tuesday).
On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers were making an arrest of a male subject wanted in connection with a robbery investigation. Officers went to a residence on East Haughton Road, where the suspect initially barricaded himself inside and then apparently jumped from a balcony and ran toward a nearby store. Believing the suspect may have a weapon, officers set up a perimeter, made contact with the management of the business, and requested that customers and staff leave the store. Through continued communication and a search of the premises and compound, officers located the male suspect and took him safely into custody at approximately 10:15 a.m.
Investigation is continuing and further details will be released once they are available.
